You guys are missing the mark. Anyone remember Michael Biehn from the first Terminator movie,or Navy Seals? He would be a perfect Ben Raines. Another guy that could fit somewhere in a big screen/TV Ashes series would be Keith Carradine. I know there would be a place for him somewhere. That's my $.02.

I havent been on the boards in a very long time, but I have to agree with the thought of a movie or video series of the Ashes Series. What a wonderful way of paying tribute to an Outstanding Author. I can tell you this I would be one of the first to buy the series. What about that guy who produced the series Over There as a producer and director for the movie? I think his name is Steven Baccho (SP?) not to sure of the spelling for his last name. As for Actors to portray the characters in the books, I would have to go with somebody like Tom Berenger maybe clive Owen as Ben Raines. But as for the rest it will take a lot of thought.

wile i would love to see the series turned into a movie or colection of movies or mini series hell or it's own tv show i would have one major concern that it not differ one letter from the books takeing away or adding anything and i would insist it not be changed at all down to every last letter

Hello everyone, I started reading the Ashes series about a month and a half ago and I am currently on Flames from the Ashes (#18) I really like the series and it just keeps getting better and better. I was browsing the forums when I saw this thread and decided that I would join up just to post on this thread how I think they should make an Ashes TV show.

I think the best way to go around getting an Ashes TV show would be to have it be broken down into two episodes per book, the reason being that each book usually has a book one and book two per full book. So they could just end the first episode at the end of the first book and have each episode be an hour long, sort of how Band of Brothers was. If it was on HBO they could still have a lot of the action shown but would most definitely tone down the rape and stuff like that (maybe just like hint at it and people would get the idea).

As for actors I really have no idea who would play a good Ben Raines. For Cecil I was thinking that maybe Chiwetel Ejiofor would be pretty good, he was pretty awesome in both Serenity and Redbelt. For buddy I was maybe thinking maybe Skeet Ulrich he did an phenomenal job in the post-apocalyptic TV show Jericho, he might be a little older than the actual character but I still think he could pull it off. For Ike, Dan, Georgi and others I really have no idea, Cecil and Buddy was the only one I could find someone for =P
