Ogi, I do know that the 2 main guys in Sidewinders were in one of the "Blood Bond" series. By the time they were in "Blood Bond" they were getting up in years though. It also give a bit of their backgrounds, too.

I believe it was in Hanging Road that you'll first find Scratch Morton and Bo Creel..

Sidewinders is like Blood Valley.. Have you read it? Cotton Pickens is the main character in Blood Valley.

Amazon has an excerpt available from the back of Matt Jensen: Purgatory that is scheduled for August release if you want to go read about it.

Well, Sidewinders was officially released yesterday but it has been on the book shelves at some of the bookstores for over a week.

Just in case you missed my email. I got the book Sidewinders Sun and read it Sunday night, from begining to end. I couldn't put it down, it's been awhile since I've read a book in one night. Loved it.

Borders, where I get a lot of my books, is pretty liberal. I have as yet, to see a Johnstone book on the best sellers aisles. Grrrr.

All read and accounted for so far. The last one started kinda slow..for me... but after the halfway point, I could barely put it down. Stayed up until about 3 a.m. every night, reading until I couldn't keep the eyeballs focusing.

Massacre at Whiskey Flats is still on the bestseller list, up 34 places this week to #98..
Woohoo!

Books A Million and Barnes and Noble has been placing them in a more prominent position lately.
WalMart has always taken a shine to Bill's books.. There were at least 12 different Westerns and three of the Ashes series last time I looked.
Hastings Bookstores generally has at least 4-5 shelves of Johnstone books in the Western genre, and one shelf for Ashes, Invasion USA, Remember The Alamo,etc...

I keep hoping for a full bookshelf of nothing but the Ashes series.. They seem to be flying off the shelves as soon as they are released each month.

That's my bookstore update.. lol!

Hi Jo,
This a fan from North Dakota; I have enjoyed reading the first two books of the Sidewinders;I believe I have read all of the Blood Bond books and have a more emotional tie to them,Frank Morgan,Smoke & Matt Jensen, etc,,,,;however, I plan to continue reading the newest sidewinders' editions as they come out;I am laughing alot and I believe I get attached to the characters and how their story plays out.

Sure is good to hear the praise.. Bo and Scratch were introduced in one of the latest Blood Bond books; Hanging Road.
The next book, Cutthroat Canyon, comes out in June.
