I just saw Barack Obama´s appearance in Germany on TV, and the news people say that there were about 200.000 people in Berlin watching him during this event. He did not give any interviews to news agencys and TV reporters from Germany, so I cannot mention any further details.

I heard what he said, and I am thinking about a message between the lines, but have not found anything yet.

What I am reading here in this forum about him, makes me think that there must a a big difference between the things which I saw on TV in Berlin and what others say about him in the forum.

As I live in Germany, I am too far away from the USA and I do not know details about Democtaric candidats. But why in the world is Obama so much praised as a second John F. Kennedy? This is what German reporters said after his appearance.

I am just wondering about everything, and therefore I am asking this question here...

The media presents Obama as the next JFK because the media wants another JFK. The media wants a "movie star" front man to push its agenda. I was watching Hardball with Chris Matthews and they are asking "Why doesn't Obama have more of a lead over John McCain? My question is why should he. McCain has much stronger foriegn policy credentials than Obama. McCain has more experience overall than Obama. McCain has served in the military unlike Obama. Maybe McCain doesn't have the movie star quality Obama has. But we are electing a Commander In Chief, not a movie star.

The media here is heads over hills in "luv" with Obama. They are about 90% liberals and they seem to hate this country. What is disgusting about that trip was when he refused to visit our troops because he was not allowed to make a political ad about him with them. instead of going there, he went to a gym to work out. I quit watching network news about 25 years ago. I get mine from different internet sites. I also read different newspapers on the web.

The people who hate this country, our military, and leaders who do not support the waaaaaaaay left policies are the ones who love obama. He should never be anywhere near the White House.

i do not understand why he and his family stayed at that church for 20 years. I could not sleep one night years ago and was changing channels when I came across his minister. I knew from that one encounter that he did not teach what the Bible said and even wrote him an email. Funny, I never heard from him.

.There is more interesting information coming out from a number of sources about his Germany visit.

1. His speech was given at the end of a free rock concert where food and drink was provided.

2. The German equivalent of our PBS, stated that the crowd was nearer to 20 to 30 thousand people not the 200,000 as reported. They have been covering events held in this plaza for years and have extensive experience measuring crowds.

3. His excuse for not visiting the soldiers in the hospital has been countered by the military. They reported he cancelled when he was told he could not bring his cameras and publicity people with him into the hospital. More of his respect for the military on display!

4. His apology for the US involvement in the Second World War against Germany was a totally political statement. He should remember it was Germany who started that war. He seems to forget it was the US and its allies who freed Germany from Hitler and helped to rebuild the country and its economy into one of the strongest in the world.

5. The reaction of some of the world leaders to his statements has been less then stellar.

PS: : I am of German decent and have visited the country a number of times and love going there. The people have always been warm, friendly and welcoming to me. It feels like a second home when I visit.
