Who We Are:

William Johnstone - Net and the William Johnstone - Net bookstore are maintained by the Johnstone family. Most often you will encounter Jo directly but when she is swamped or under the weather you may hear from her daughter, Heather, or Jo's sister, Mary.

If you would like us to give you a call regarding an order you have placed or would like to place, please contact us by one of the above means and we will happily call you to discuss your order. We are not a corporate call center so it may take us a few days to get back with you. If your matter is urgent, please give us the details in your correspondence so we can prioritize it accordingly.

 

Bookstore Operating Schedule:

We are open Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm CST. We are closed on weekends and most major public holidays. Please refer to our Latest News page for any other special events that may be happening throughout the year.

 

 

ORDERING & SHIPPING QUESTIONS

 

How do I place an order for books through your website?   We offer three ways of ordering: online, mail-order and fax. Click here for instructions on how to complete your order: ORDERING

 

How long will it take to get my order?  If you order through our website on a weekday, your order will be processed and shipped within 24-48 hours. Orders received after 12pm on Friday or over the weekend will be shipped on Monday.  Orders received on public holidays will be shipped the next business day. Unfortunately, once your order has been shipped, we no longer have any control over how long it takes to get to you. General shipping times for Media Mail shipments through the USPS is 2-9 days. The USPS does not guarantee this shipping time, however, as circumstances during the transit process cannot be predicted. We do offer the option of PRIORITY MAIL shipping through the USPS which takes considerably less time.

 

It's been longer than 9 days, how can I check the status of my order? If you were not sent a tracking number when we shipped your item, simply contact us at bookstore@williamjohnstone.net and we can check the status for you. If the post office has not delivered your item after considerable time and it has not been returned to us, they require the intended recipient to contact them at that stage to enquire as to it's status. We will give you whatever assistance we can in tracking down your package.

 

What happens if my shipment is returned to William Johnstone - Net?  If your books are returned to us as undeliverable, we will attempt to contact you via whatever contact details you provided to find the source of the problem. Generally, if we do not receive a response from you  after multiple attempts, the books will be restocked. We handle each situation on a case by case basis but with the increasing numbers of packages returned to us due to incorrect addresses, please note that you may be required to pay extra shipping for us to send the books to you a second time.    

 

What if I want to buy multiple copies of the same book? Our website service is one aimed at individual readers. If you are interested in purchasing several copies of the same book for gifting purposes, please let us know in the notes at Check Out. We do not sell to known resellers, distributors, retailers or wholesalers. These individuals need to go directly to the publisher or other wholesale sources.

 

What if I accidentally ordered more than one copy of a book? When we process your order if you have ordered multiple copies of the same book, we will automatically contact you to make sure this was intentional. If we do not hear back from you within ten days, we will ship out your order as you have ordered it. In this case, if you request a refund or exchange after receipt of the shipment, a second shipping fee and a restocking fee of $3.50 will apply. If we hear from you immediately, you will have the option of a refund for the unwanted item or an exchange at no charge.

 

I ordered a book and then purchased one at the store before I received the book in the mail. Can I get a refund?  All refunds are determined on a case by case basis as refunds are determined by shipment status. Please email us for assistance.

 

What about if I want to exchange a book I received for another? Again, this is case specific. If you wish to exchange a book you have purchased and not yet received, there is no charge if we have not shipped your order. If your order has shipped, the book must be returned to us in the same condition and once received from you, there will be an additional shipping charge for the second shipment.

 

Why have you increased your shipping rates? In order to keep your shipping costs low, we never apply a handling charge to your order. Over the past two years, we have done our best and not passed on any postal rate increases to you, our customers, but as of April 20, 2009 with another rate increase pending on May 11th from the Post Office, we are left with no alternative and you will see a nominal increase on standard shipping charges as follows:

 

Orders of $0.00 - $14.99  = $4.25 Standard Shipping 
Orders of $15.00 - $49.99 = $7.25 Standard Shipping 
Orders of $50.00 - $99.99 = $10.25 Standard Shipping
Orders of $100.00 - $199.99 = $15.25 Standard Shipping
Orders of $200.00 or more = FREE SHIPPING!
